Lahore — In a display of unwavering dedication to spreading awareness about breast cancer, Pink Ribbon Pakistan, in collaboration with the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) at Higher Education Commission (HEC) proudly announces the winners of the Pink Ribbon HEC Youth Awards for Breast Cancer Awareness held during PINKtober 2020. With participation from approximately 200 colleges and universities, this initiative continues to shine as a beacon of hope and awareness, reaching out to around 150,000 students.

Empowering the Youth through Knowledge

The Pink Ribbon HEC Youth Awards have once again demonstrated the power of collaboration between educational institutions and Pink Ribbon in raising awareness about breast cancer among the youth. The awards celebrate the innovative and impactful campaigns orchestrated by these institutions during the month of October, also known as “PINKtober.”

Mirpur University of Science and Technology emerged as the beacon of awareness, securing the 1st position with its exceptional efforts in promoting breast cancer awareness. Institute of Business Administration Sukkur and Government Degree College for Women Kot Khawaja Saeed stood together in the 2nd position, setting a remarkable example for their peers. Bahria University Karachi and Government Post Graduate Islamia College for Women Cantt claimed the 3rd position, showcasing their commitment to creating a culture of awareness.

Honoring Excellence in Advocacy

The Pink Ribbon HEC Youth Awards recognized the outstanding initiatives undertaken by various institutions. Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi and Government Post Graduate College for Women Kasur were awarded the Outstanding Event Award for their commendable events that engaged and educated their communities. Meanwhile, Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University Quetta, Chandka Medical College Larkana, Minhaj University Lahore, and Bacha Khan University were presented with Encouragement Awards for their dedication.

The Recognition Award was granted to University of Management & Technology Lahore and Sindh Agriculture University for their remarkable contributions to the breast cancer awareness cause. These awards reinforce the importance of collaborative efforts to bring about positive change and empower the youth with knowledge.
