Among women increased body weight and weight gained during adulthood are linked with a higher risk of breast cancer after menopause. Smoking and Alcohol also increases risk of breast cancer.
Pink Ribbon Pakistan encourages a healthy lifestyle that includes a balanced diet and regular exercise. A healthy lifestyle is a key weapon against Breast Cancer. Overweight or under nourished women are physically more prone to the disease than a healthy woman.
To strengthen and add weight to the message Pink Ribbon is reaching out to women through health clubs of the country. Some new NuPA programmes are soon to be announced.
